TOUR INFORMATION

Saturday 20 March 2009
(Not compulsory, only for delegates who want to go on this tour)

A one day tour in Cape Town will be organized for those who are interested.  Please indicate on the registration form should you be interested in the one day tour.

09h00  Depart from Spier

The journey takes us to Boulders overlooking False Bay, to view the African Penguins.  This colony is one of three breeding colonies on main land along our coast.  We can observe these little creatures that cannot fly, but can swim almost as swiftly as a shark, from a platform specially designed to get really close to these little fellows.

We leave Boulders for Table Mountain (weather permitting) and make our way up by Cable Car.  Table Mountain is the landmark of Cape Town ,the 1086m high mountain is a National Monument, that has now a chance of becoming one of the New 7 Wonders of the World.  The views from the top are spectacular and on a clear day, this mountain is visible for 200Km.

We leave Table Mountain and drive via Camps Bay to the V&A Waterfront. This is another world renowned landmark.  With its shops, buskers and numerous restaurants, it is a “Must” stop for every visitor.

Lunch at the Waterfront

Take the Ferry to Robben Island, where Mr. Nelson Mandela
spent 25 years in jail. Or just take in the hustle and the bustle of Cape Town’s amazingly interesting mix of people, with the beautiful Table Mountain as back-drop.

The Bus departs from the Waterfront, back to Spier at about 17h00.
