General Course Information


To be admitted to the program, an applicant MUST have either (a)  A minimum of honours (or 4-year degree), Postgraduate Diploma, Master's or MBA (excluding Master's in Development Finance)  in Finance, Accounting Economics, banking or insurance. Full internationally recognised assessment-based membership of professional bodies in Accounting, Finance, Banking, Insurance or Economics (e.g. CIMA, ACCA, CFA, Chartered Banker, Actuary etc.) will also be considered.

Course Aims


The aim of the course is to provide participants with an opportunity to understand the risk-return character of limited recourse projects in project finance from multiple perspectives. At the end of the course participants will be able to do the following:

(1) Critically analyze and evaluate project viability;
(2) Manage and minimize projects risk; and
(3) Analyze complex case studies on project finance

Course Overview


This course provides participants with the concepts and theories, as well as the practical tools and techniques for project finance valuation, analysis and modelling. This provides participants with an opportunity to understand the risk-return character of limited recourse projects from multiple perspectives. Topics will include: Introduction to project finance, Analysis of project viability, Designing security arrangements, Structuring the project, Financing Plan, Discounted cash flow analysis, Financial modelling and project evaluation and Project finance market, Managing project risk. The course will discuss a number of case studies.



This CIDEF Accredited Advanced Certificate course in Project Finance is divided into 5 Sessions over a 5-day period with a final assessment on the 6th Day. (Course is presented and examined online)
