Financial systems around the world continue to struggle as a consequence of the 2008 financial crisis. The crisis has succeeded in exposing the historical fault-lines that define the global financial architecture that nation-states rely on for economic development. Development Finance plays a central role in establishing and strengthening efficient financial systems that generate optimal models capable of linking theoretical concepts to practical experiences. For this to happen will require practitioners and academics to work together to develop models that has implementable values. The Annual Global Development Finance Conference in partnership with the Global Development Finance Centre and Global Development Finance Research Network is organising a conference in Cape Town on the 5-7 November 2013. The conference will be bringing together researchers, academics, practitioners in development finance institutions, commercial banks, central banks and other international development institutions.
